    13

Coleman squeaked past Franken by the narrowest of margins: a few hundred votes with nearly 2.9 million cast. The margin appeared certain to trigger an automatic recount.

If the margin holds up, Coleman would be among the fortunate Republicans who survived big gains by Democrats nationwide.

By the way, Al Franken is Jewish too. And, for that matter, so was Paul Wellstone, who was one of Minnesota’s senators until he died in a 2002 plane crash less than two weeks before elections (his replacement on the ticket, Walter Mondale, lost to Coleman). Very interesting given that less than 1% of those surveyed in exit polls self-identified as Jewish.

    I voted for Coleman!

Minnesota is a very liberal state. I’m happy to hear that Coleman is ahead….it should remain that way.

On a side note, I received not less than 1, sometimes 2-3 pieces of mail daily asking me to vote for Franken. I also received phone calls every other day asking me to vote for Franken. Along with the Franken literature left on my door and car regularly. They went way over board. They did not let up for a minute!

There is a silver lining in this whole mess because Al Frankenstein didnt win!

    Something to keep in mind:
What will be in June or July when people still can’t pay their bills? When they see we are still in Iraq & Afghanistan for the long haul (we are still in Europe, Korea, etc.)? When overall there has been no great “change” for the positive and we are still full of “hope?” They will wake up and say, “What the g’henim did we do to ourselves?” When that happens it will be time for the mid-term elections and the libs will lose a few – or more – seats in the House & Senate.

Kudos to the people of Minnesota. Too bad that the rest of the country did not have so much common sense.

The outcome of the Minnesota election is still up in the air. In Minnesota, a recount is required when it’s this close.
