Albany, NY – New York Gov. David Paterson is lashing back at what he calls an orchestrated, scandalous assault on his character that includes unsubstantiated accusations about womanizing and drug use that he flatly denies.

The Democratic governor tells The Associated Press that the media and New York politics have hit new lows, but it won’t stop him from serving in office or seeking election to a full term in the fall.
He cited one published report that he was caught by state police in the mansion with a woman other than his wife as fabricated. He said the room in which he was reportedly caught doesn’t even exist.
He would only address other accusations broadly, but denied all the improper relationships and drug use that are among the unproven accusations.

I’m no Patterson fan, but he has always been forthcoming with his “indiscretions”. Sometimes he has given us too much detail. I appreciate that he is fighting these rumors and I’m inclined to believe him based on his prior history. It’s about time he showed some backbone.
Maybe there is a decent governor buried deep down in there after all… MAYBE.
Since he’s blind its possible he was with some1 other than his wife, cuz he dosnt see who he is with!!

I really respect Governor Paterson, he’s the only one doing anything in Albany right now… you should all get yourself onto his email list, he really keeps you up on what’s going on. (it’s on his website)
He also answered my emails far more promptly and with much more menchlichkeit than senator Gillibrand.
People are sick of this nonsense politics. Leave the man alone!!!!
One thing I’ve come to realize, and that is that there is no smoke without fire- obviously there is some truth to all of this, and we will all know (not that we really care one way or another),if this ois indeed true…..
He is a joke. Spitzer took him as Lieut because he was black and that got him the black vote, but not because he could be a Gov. The only good thing about him is that he didnt pander to Rev. Jackson or Bigmouth Sharpton. They are not Gores him either.
