Aron allegedly dismembered Leiby Kletzky, 8, in July. His attorneys say he is not guilty by reason of insanity.
“This is a very simple case. He is either evil or insane. We intend to prove he is not guilty by reason of insanity. It’s pretty straightforward,” said Howard Greenberg.
“We maintain that it was police over-reaching. He has a simple mind. There are terms (in the statement) that he doesn’t seem likely (to use,) said Jennifer McCann.
He looks insane…Greenberg does…
My son is 6 and he uses the word all the time. This lawyer is a buffoon.
The only thing that’s insane here is this defense strategy.
this guy looks like he’d kill someone too with a face like that…
enough arguing, neither outcome for him is good. An insane institution is worse, let him go there,
I dont really understand all of these comments. Does anyone here think that Levi Aron is a man in his right mind?
I once was on jury duty and this guy was the defense attorney………… enough said.
We are the ultimate hypocrites, when we’re told to defend SMR we all with every fiber of our bodies state that he is innocent, when it came to Martin, Grossman we all defended him not caring about the impact he made on the victims. I fully agree on the defense of the 2 but when it comes our emotions in this case we are the utmost conservative prosecutors.
Besides the stupid name calling of the lawyers, which we never know when a family member will have to use them, is childish and so opposite of the morals that we were all brought up, remember the whole world calls us all these names.
Let the courts run their course, the’re stricter more than we all want them to be.
Don’t let us let our emotional desire for revenge close down our rational desire to see Aron dealt with for what he is: insane. Anyone who could do what he did is surely insane. Let them lock him away in a padded cell in solitary confinement for the rest of his natural life. If he is sent to goal he will get recreation time, visits from do-gooders etc. Let him be drugged up to the eyeballs in a lunatic asylum forever to ensure he never sees the light of day again.
The lawyer looks like he himself is a meshugana.
I agree with the lawyer. Let’s not prejudge this case.
If someone looks at the family of Levi Aron, they would know how crazy of a background he came from. mental illness runs in his family- schizophrenia, suicide…
And where are the calls “innocent until proven guilty”??? He is a yid, just like you and me. And Yidden can become crazy/mentally ill too.
It is possible in a case where there is a hue and cry for justice take the police may over reach to get an arrest and conviction, it happens and not just sometimes. Levi Aron may indeed be insane however an insanity defense is a hard one to advance and belies how weak the defense really is.
As to Grossman and SMR or even Pollard I would suggest to #8 the community 217;s defense is not so much as to guilt or innocence but to disparity of punishment and the possible role of animus in how the cases were prosecuted, judged and sentenced. The outrage in the Kletzky case is greater because Lebby is every Jewish child but there wouldn 217;t there be popular outrage no matter what the victim 217;s ethnicity?
The attorney 217;s dig against Assemblyman Hikind was unnecessary but in keeping with his role as a defense counsel.
