Furchtgott was at the corner of Albany Avenue and President Street at 6:47 PM when he was tripped by one of the perpetrators. As he lay on the ground, he was mercilessly beaten about the head and body by the other attackers who also stole $40 from his wallet and his iPhone.

“It was the last thing I was expecting,” Furchtgott told the Daily News (http://nydn.us/TwMDEW). “I found myself on the ground and first thought that I tripped over a branch until I heard someone yell, ‘Give me your phone! Give me your wallet.’”

A somewhat grainy video provided by CrownHeights.info shows Furchtgott, a recent Princeton University graduate, being rolled onto his stomach so his assailants can also search his back pockets for something else to steal.

“One of them said, ‘Stay down! Don’t look up until you count to 100 or I’ll shoot you!’” Furchtgott recalled.
Furchtgott’s head was then violently slammed into the concrete sidewalk before his attackers ran off. He remained on the ground, unmoving, after the attack, until he was discovered by Sruly Halon who was also returning home that evening.

“At first I didn’t know why he was lying there,” Halon said. “I wasn’t sure if something happened to him physically. Maybe a tree hit him.”

Furchtgott counted until 25 before telling Halon he had been mugged, but did not recall being beaten as well. He sustained several injuries, including bruises and cuts on his legs, but refused medical attention.

Halon tried to call 911, but could not get through owing to the high call volume related to the hurricane.

Shomrim volunteer Binyomin Lifshitz responded to the scene and managed to reach the police for assistance. An NYPD captain arrived soon after, and a number of police officers searched the neighborhood for the perpetrators, but came up empty.

“We have a complaint and it is under investigation,” Detective Brian Sessa said.

Brooklyn City Councilman David Greenfield condemned the incident, and is offering a $1,000 reward for any information leading to the arrest of the attackers.

Why do these things only happen in CH? It never happens in Willi or BP.

This robbery, and assault, is typical of the actions of the two legged animals (savages) who roam our city streets, not only in Brooklyn, but throughout the USA. In other countries, they would be beheaded in public, or hanged with a crane. However, the reason that these types of incidents continue to occur in the USA, is that they are tolerated by the public, and the criminal justice system. Incidentally, if the incident was chas v’shalom, perpetrated by four Chasids, against members of a minority group, then the cops would do everything in their power to solve the crime.

A young man was brutally beaten up 2 weeks ago by the cops; a demonstration was planned and well promoted a few days in advance.
The media came prepared to report a large demonstration, the police came and put up barriers, preparing for a large demonstration, Dov Hikind showed up and a prominent lawyer showed up to address the crowd, local African American politicians showed up, a black minister came all the way from Harlem to show his support. And Crown heightsers? 150 people showed up, that is less than 1% of Jewish CH.
We demonstrated very clearly that crown heights Jews do not care if they get beaten, mugged and disrespected by the police. None of our “leaders” showed up to demonstrate against the police brutality.
Some people say the demonstration should have been called for a different day and time, that 2:00 Friday afternoon was not convenient, maybe so, but any day and time is inconvenient for some people. There should have had 1,500 people at least not a measly 150.
    We deserve what we get.

There has been looting in various parts of NY and Long Island. Of course, there is little or no mention of “who” is doing it – because it’s not “PC” these days. Chapsum!

Their video shows nothing useful. Absolutely nothing is identifiable.

Shomrim in CH is a waste of time with these useless video’s.

The only purpose of the video is their self serving free publicity.

The lamp is never out for Israel. There is always an untrustworthy group ready to kick us at our heels. But Israel will always be the future of Intelligent Conversations in this world. No one can laugh at the skepticism of the chagrined children who hate that we are seemingly defenseless at the crimes of today’s Crown Heights and other places; but the future for a Jewish soul is bright today.
