James Miller, spokesman for the New York State Correctional Officers and Police Benevolent Association, says Auburn Correctional Facility went into lockdown after prison staff found the plans Friday.
State corrections officials have confirmed that prisoners were locked into their cells starting last Friday. Officials aren’t commenting on the escape plan claims.
Miller says he has no details of the escape plans.
The lockdown comes as authorities continue searching for two murderers who escaped from the maximum-security Clinton Correctional Facility in northern New York June 6. David Sweat and Richard Matt remained at large for a 20th day Thursday.
