New York, NY – An organization based in New York representing foreign journalists in Israel and the Palestinian territories on Friday condemned the attack by a Palestinian assailant who stabbed an IDF soldier in Hebron while posing as a reporter.

The stabbing incident occurred at Zayit Junction, in the Kiryat Arba area. The terrorist was shot dead at the scene, while the soldier was moderately wounded.
During the incident, the terrorist approached the soldier wearing a “press” flak jacket and carrying a camera.
“The Foreign Press Association understands a Palestinian posing as a local news photographer and wearing a t-shirt marked PRESS stabbed an Israeli soldier in Hebron today,” the group said in a statement.
“We utterly deplore this violation of press privilege and call on local Palestinian media organizations to immediately verify all media credentials to ensure there are no violations,” the FPA said. “The FPA represents the foreign media working in Israel and the Palestinian territories and tightly restricts the issuance of FPA credentials.”
“This attack was carried out by someone posing as a local Palestinian journalist. All the same, it marks a worrying development that demands that all media operate with heightened caution in the West Bank and east Jerusalem.”

Put a pig on every terrorist. That way they don’t go to heaven.
So basically this press group is saying that they’re fine with Palestinian terrorists stabbing innocent people as long as they’re not dressed as a journalist, and, I assume, the terrorist doesn’t stab a journalist.
Wondering how this “esteemed” organization would respond if a Palestinian terrorist dressed as a journalist stabs a non-Israeli journalist or if an “acceptably attired” terrorist stabs an Israeli journalist.
It’s different when it’s your own ox being gored, isn’t it?
Or when it’s someone posting as your ox doing the goring. In a place I worked, a millwrights’ union member filed a grievance because one of my non-union colleagues moved a desk across a room. Is this analogous?
This is a great opportunity for isreal to ban all press and get the job done once and for all…
“We utterly deplore this violation of press privilege”. We don’t deplore murder, though. You can go on killing so that we can continue biased reporting, but don’t violate press privilege.
That’s it all journalists should not be allowed to go near the IDF. They all hate them. Just some express that hatred with their pens and cameras, others with their knives.
There not complaining about excessive force , after all the palestinian only stabbed the soldier and didn’t kill him ,so why was he killed?
Ban the press. Israel who’s so worried about world opinion would have much less to worry about if there was no more press spinning incidents for their anti-semitic motives.
Its a shanda that a terrorist would commit a crime disguised as a journalist. This puts at risk the very people we rely upon for accurate and truthful coverage of the new. If reporters for VIN affiliated new outlets were fearful of covering breaking news, we would all be reliant on more biased media. There should be swift and forceful punishment for any terrorist who pretends to be a journalist when attacking yiddin.
