Trump tweets, “America is the greatest Country in the world and my job is to fight for ALL citizens, even those who have made mistakes.”
He says, “This will keep our communities safer, and provide hope and a second chance, to those who earn it.
Trump adds, “I look forward to signing this into law!”
The bill gives judges more discretion when sentencing some drug offenders and boosts prisoner rehabilitation efforts. It would also reduce the sentences of some drug offenders currently serving time.
It passed the Senate by an 87-12 vote Tuesday night. The House is expected to pass the bill this week, sending it to Trump for his signature.
Why is everyone so hung on drug offenders who have no family life who make mistakes ? What about white collar criminals who make silly mistakes and or get entrapped by KGB like gotcha moments ? What’s the justification for someone who cheated on a few dollars to lock him
Up for 20 years ?’ Make him pay it back . Make him do community service .
This guy from Lakewood who swindled health insurers recently is another prime example of stupidity. Over ten years how much do insurers earn in premiums? Anyone who has insurance knows it’s 20k a year . You don’t think they earned ten mill in premiums? ( 50 sign ups who pay for ten years ) Yet oh he is such a gonef.
We need to decrease dragonic rubashkin like sentences too . Just bec we are privileged white boys doesn’t make us more cruel
the bill is not tough enough.any religious person jewish or whatever caught doing any minor crime needs to be sentenced to a minimum of 50 years.
