Agudath Israel Issues Roadmap for Rabbonim and Community Leaders to Safely Reopen Our Kehillos

NEW YORK (VINnews/Agudath Israel of America) – We are all encouraged to see several states ease, or begin talks of easing, the long and difficult quarantine which has successfully slowed the progress of COVID-19. We pray that the trajectory witnessed in several states continue its downward trend until this menace is totally eradicated.

Notwithstanding our eagerness to “return to normal,” Agudath Israel of America reminds our constituents that the road to recovery will, and should be, deliberate. Easing restrictions abruptly and without closely monitoring its impact risks forfeiting the gains achieved by enduring this difficult quarantine.

For this reason, at the direction of the Moetzes Gedolei Hatorah, Agudath Israel has worked closely with prominent rabbonim and infectious disease specialists to develop A Roadmap for Rabbonim and Community Leaders to Safely Reopen Our Kehillos.

The goal of this comprehensive document is to lay out a plan to return to davening b’tzibbur in a safe and halachicaly sanctioned way. Even if your state – like New York – has not yet eased restrictions, there should be a clear, advance game plan for how to move forward when it does. The Moetzes Gedolei HaTorah-approved guidelines contained in the Roadmap are designed to achieve this purpose.

Reckless. Irresponsible. Rodfim & Rotzchim. Why can’t these organizations listen to the doctors? All minyanim are assur. Plain & simple. Chillul hashem. And then we wonder why the goyim hate us.

You, my friend, are illiterate. READ THE DOCUMENT. It clearly says-over and over- that the nothing happens without local and state authorities sanctioning meetings of said amount of people.

You realize the Agudah did consult with doctors. Also the local doctors I spoke with who were working on the frontlines treating Carona patients think things should start reopening.

The Agudah and RCA/OU guidance differs in a number of areas. The RCA/OU have an additional waiting period after government restrictions are eased, while the Agudah does not. The Agudah has more specific guidance on conducting minyanim than the RCA/OU. The RCA/OU requires more central organization of non-shul minyanim, while the Agudah just provides guidance on their formation. The Agudah does not allow regular aliyos (give it all to the baal korei) in initial stages, while the RCA/OU offers a choice of either that or regular aliyos (with the oleh maintaining a distance) even from the start.

There are probably other differences, but that’s what I picked up on first review.

14 people per minyan is not realistic. The 15th guy that shows up is not going to leave because of guidelines. It should be
19 people, the way they have it in Israel. Once a 20th person shows up, they can split into 2 minyanim.

Whatever happened to our 1st ammendment? Why should we listen to our corrupt one party system government?
Do we work for the government or does the government work for us?

If you bother to take the time to actually read the Agudah guidelines they in essence say that EITHER the applicable government authority OR the Rabbonim have the power to restrict or prohibit minyanim. In other words, unless BOTH local governments AND the Rabbonim are willing to permit minyanim to go forward in a particular manner, then the minyanim will NOT go forward. All of this is based on pikuach nefesh. So stop trashing Agudah, unless you’re one of the imbeciles who believes that you have the right to do whatever you want no matter how it could harm others.

Keep the schools closed. Kids love it. They learn by phone or zoom and are very relaxed. Kids need a sabbatical. Kids help clean and cook in the house. Main thing really needed are minyanim. Not schools

Your prior history here shows you are not educated or knowledgeable about this matter. Listen to those smarter than you and no not the Rav or Dr. you listened to back in March.
