JERUSALEM (VINnews) — Police in Israel have come under broad criticism for their seemingly selective enforcement of coronavirus regulations. Chareidim- even those in secular areas- have come under much closer scrutiny from police and in many cases are detained and arrested for even the most minor infractions.

In one case this week, police arrested a young woman near the Machane Yehuda market for not covering her nose with her mask. The woman spoke to them in English but they did not attempt to speak English and detained her for questioning after she refused to identify herself. The police later claimed that the woman did indeed understand Hebrew during questioning but had been detained because she allegedly tried to attack the police officers. However the fact that she was singled out despite the fact that other secular people in the area were not even wearing masks demonstrates the selective enforcement which continues unabated.

Police forcibly detain woman in front of her children for not wearing mask properly
I can be in the US and hate the goyishe cops and politicians all I want and post about it all I want, but living in israel it becomes very tricky. Is one allowed to hate a regular cop that singled out a chareidi? Not poshut.
גמרא מפורשת במסכת ברכות
הנהו בריוני דהוו בשבבותיה [אותם בריונים שהיו בשכנותו] של ר’ מאיר והוו קא מצערו ליה טובא [והיו מצערים אותו הרבה]. הוה קא בעי [היה מבקש] ר’ מאיר רחמי עלויהו [רחמים עליהם] כי היכי דלימותו [שימותו]. אמרה ליה [לו] לר’ מאיר ברוריא דביתהו [אשתו]: מאי [מה] דעתך, על מה סומך אתה בתפילה זו שימותו הבריונים משום דכתיב [שנאמר]: “יתמו חטאים מן הארץ” (תהלים קד, לה), וסבור אתה כי טוב לעולם בכליון הרשעים, ואולם מי כתיב [האם נאמר] “יתמו חוטאים”? והלא “יתמו חטאים” כתיב [נאמר], ויש להתפלל לכליונה של הרישעות ולא של הרשע. ועוד, שפיל לסיפיה דקרא [רד, המשך לסופו של הפסוק] שנאמר שם “ורשעים עוד אינם”, כיון ש”יתמו חטאים” מכאן והלאה כיצד אפשר יהא ש”רשעים עוד אינם”, כלומר, שאינם עוד רשעים? אלא בעירחמי עלויהו דלהדרו [בקש רחמים עליהם שיחזרו] בתשובה, וממילא יתקיים “ורשעים עוד אינם”. ראה ר’ מאיר צדקת דברי ברוריה ובעא רחמי עלויהו, והדרו [ביקש רחמים עליהם, וחזרו] בתשובה”
