WEST BANK (VINnews) — Thousands of Israelis descended on the settlement of Chomesh in Shomron on Thursday, in a strong response to the government’s decision not to legalize the local yeshiva.

The rally took place just after the completion of the shiva for Yehuda Dimentman HY”D, who was murdered by terrorists outside the entrance to Chomesh last Thursday. Gatherers marched in support of the government rebuilding the West Bank settlement.
The massive rally was spearheaded by the Dimentman family, who is fearful that the government will demolish the yeshiva where Yehuda learned in the coming weeks. Gatherers marched from Shavei Shomron to the yeshiva, using the same route where Yehuda was tragically gunned down by an Arab terrorist as he headed home for Shabbos.
The IDF blocked the roads in and out of the nearby Palestinian village of Burqa in Nablus to secure the rally. A memorial service was scheduled after the march with public figures and Knesset members.
The Yeshiva first opened in 2002 but was officially closed during the Disengagement in 2005, however it was later reopened and has been operational for years.
Many right-wing Israelis view Chomesh and its Yeshiva as a symbol of the movement to rescind the pullout and land giveaway and reopen Shomron.
The Knesset this week struck down a resolution to legalize the Yeshiva as well as seventy West Bank outposts, by a 59-50 margin.
Yigal Dilmoni, Director of the Yesha Council, said. “For the past 15 years since the Expulsion, yeshiva students continued to learn here. This is the status quo of this place – yeshiva students arriving here to strengthen the site, to strengthen the settlement enterprise. The government must not award a prize to terrorism. The yeshiva must be legalized.”
What these thousands need to do is refuse to serve in the Israeli army. These fat cat politicians and judges don’t care much about their soldiers anyway. Learn from the Chareidim.
