BOSTON (VINnews) — Ben & Jerry’s will work out a “new arrangement” to sell ice cream in Israel. This huge development is not surprising, considering that the value of its parent corporation Unilever has been plunging out of control, ever since the company pulled out of West Bank settlements.

The CEO of Unilever says that the board of Ben & Jerry’s plans to work out the new structure for selling ice cream in Israel before the end of the year, though he did not specify what the plans might entail.
Last year the U.S.-based ice cream brand, owned by Jews, suspended sales in many Israeli settlements. That controversial decision, essentially supporting the anstisemitic BDS movement, was met with fierce bipartisan backlash, and some U.S. pension funds divested from Unilever.
Ben & Jerry’s said it was “inconsistent with our values” for its product to be sold in those areas. Since that decision was made, Unilever has lost a startling $26 billion.
Unilever learns the hard way that Boycotting Israel can boomerang back, and … cost billions!

“Our absolute focus right now is to figure out what the new arrangement will be for Ben & Jerry’s,” Unilever CEO Alan Jope said on a conference call with journalists.
Without mentioning names, Jope took a swipe at the ice cream makers, saying “On subjects where Unilever brands don’t have the expertise or credibility, we think it’s best that they stay out of the debate.”
After the announcement to boycott was made, Jope distanced himself from the move, saying Ben & Jerry’s board acted independently and that Unilever does not support efforts to isolate Israel.
That’s wonderful but we need to make sure that the current manufacturer of Ben & Jerry’s in EY isnt # @#$& because of this.
This is about a company out of control and the parent finally stepping in Unilever has lost stock price over their mixing consumer goods with socialist politics
Please, don’t be so foolish as to think that the losses Unilever has suffered in the past months are because a small subsidiary company made a stupid decision. Ben and Jerry’s will make a strategic plan to sell its ice cream within the internationally accepted boundaries of Israel, i.e. excluding any of the areas liberated in 1967. Those in Efrat etc. will still do without their B&J fix. Also no doubt the ice cream will be manufactured in “Palestine” by a “Palestinian” company. The good Jews of Israel will then have to decide if that is really the ice cream they want. Mark my words, Ben and Jerry’s will not give up on its “principles”, it will simply find a way to get the heavy breathing Jews off its back.
They are missing the point of they think the issue is that we all miss their ice cream.
Shove it.
A couple of zionists stop eating ice cream, bog deal
Aww how cute they want to work things out….$26 billion is no walk in the park. I guess they came to their senses not worth involving political views with business
