It was the latest, and possibly largest, in a string of protests against such stores, by extremists who are upset that the stores don’t comply with the Charedi “Communications Vaad.”

Protesters gathered outside “Pninei Machshev and Cellular” on Yechezkel Street in Geula. The event was led by Rabbi Yaakov Meir Schechter of Breslov, whose participation in such events is rare, and as a result, many Breslov Chasidim joined, in addition to throngs of Charedim from nearby Meah Shearim.

During the protest a riot broke out, and police officers tried to suppress the rioters using spray canisters, stun grenades and batons.

A number of protesters were arrested, and many others were lightly injured.

These people are extremists and don’t represent the people living there.

ever wondering why it hapens there and not here in NY.

People don’t realize there is a fundamental between we and them in how we practice Yiddishkeit.

While we focus on doing good, doing mitzvos, and “sir merah” removing oneself from vice. while also recognising that there is a “Bechira” and that its not out job to force other people or use violence. G-D is powerful enough, he does not need our violence to help him

They on the other hand have use ISIS / Taliban tactics and have a ISIS / Taliban would view

This is a fundamental unbridgeable difference, we would do well to recognize it

They are bored, always looing for a reason to flock together and run amok. The police should be allowed to fight terror and not have to deal w this silliness.

the whole thing is stupid.
The protesters against a kosher phone store that does not have a hecksher, they destroy property! is it halachicly permissable to destroy property?
The police are tough on the charadim but not on the Arabs. If they were tough on the Arabs like the charadim, we might live a much better life.
