Ukraine’s Main Directorate of Intelligence posted on Facebook Saturday that two troops died and 28 were placed in intensive care after being fed the poisoned cakes in the city of Izium. Roughly 500 additional Russian soldiers were hospitalized due to heavy alcohol poisoning of an “unknown origin,” the post added.

The troops were from the 3rd Russian Motor Rifle Division, according to Ukrainian officials. The post said the Russian government is reportedly writing off the incident as “non-combat losses.”

The post also said that Ukrainian civilians were resisting the Russian forces “with all means at their disposal”.

Despite their efforts, Ukrainian civilians have been unable to stop the Russians destroying their towns and cities.

The suburbs of Izium, a city of 50,000, have been flattened by both indiscriminate shelling and precision strikes.

Schools have been destroyed, health clinics reduced to rubble by shelling and ordinary houses demolished by airborne assaults.

According to Valerii Marchenko, the city’s mayor, roughly 20,000 people are currently stuck in Izium. Many are hiding in air raid shelters, slowly running out of food and medicine.

“Ukrainian intelligence” is as believable as “Russian intelligence”…which is not so much.

The tales they tell for their Western audience’s consumption are creative, gotta give ’em credit for that.

This one is right up there with “the Ghost of Kiev” and the “Snake Island 13”.

Not a good idea.
A) This may be a war crime.
B) It will make Russia feel justified in ramping up and carrying out their own war crimes.

I know enough not to accept food or drink from residents of a country if I’m part of an invading army.
