Watch: Rabbi Hillel Cohen, The ‘Partisan Rabbi’, Continues To Save Jews In War-Torn Ukraine

2

NEW YORK (VINnews) — Rabbi Hillel Cohen of Kyiv has made it his mission to rescue Jews from war-torn Ukraine, even at great personal risk. Many of these Jews are Israeli males threatened with conscription by Ukraine due to their Ukrainian passports. At the same time he transfers badly needed food and medicines to Jews stuck in various parts of the country, including the besieged capital city.

Rabbi Cohen’s actions were documented by Israel’s Channel 13 which showed how he enters all parts of Ukraine to continue his sacred lifesaving missions. Cohen, the director of United Hatzalah’s local emergency response team, hardly sleeps and eats and is dubbed “The Partisan Rabbi” by his friends for his efforts.

A few weeks ago, Rabbi Cohen sent a question to Rabbi Chaim Kanievski Zts’l, asking him whether he should continue helping Jews escape conscription, since in one case Ukrainians shot a Jew trying to escape from being conscripted. Rabbi Kanievski told him to pray for success but stressed that he should continue his holy work.

And yet VIN continues to allow their site to be used as a propaganda vehicle for those who deny what is happening in Ukraine.
