37-year-old Binyamin Mazor, who is the principal of a Talmud Torah in Beit Shemesh, is accused of abusing pupils in the last few months. The Jerusalem Magistrates court extended his remand for four days from Sunday.
The arrest came after the Beit Shemesh police station received complaints from parents of children aged 8-10 who claimed that their kids had been physically abused by the suspect and opened an investigation. After gathering evidence from parents, police arrested Mazur.
During his interrogation, Mazor denied having employed any violence, stating that this was all a “plot” by disgruntled parents who had ganged up against him because he refused to accept certain children to the Talmud Torah.
Like Litzman the agudaist he’ll get a slap on the wrist
Rejecting children is also abuse!
Not accepting children to yeshiva is also abuse. Abuse of Torah values.
Maybe it’s time to do something about Satmar schools in Williamsburg, but school choice, right? How can we infringe on the freedom of parents and teachers to hit seven year old Kids…
Can Litzman pull some strings to get the case closed?
Hitting kids was part of charadi education of the past, but it is NOT accepted today.
Here we go again !!!
Binyamin Mazor could have a 103 year Chavruso-ship with Nechemia Weberman
Something must be going on for frum parents to go to cops on menahel, I will wait and see.
I believe that a child should know that rebbi has a right to patch if necessary. That alone is a big deterrent, without excersing it . Ask your kids if you misbehave what can rebbi do to you as a punishment…he will gigle and say almost nothing..
We have totaly disarmed the hanhallah ,
Abuse? Because he slapped a few kids who were misbehaving? Apparently the kids weren’t coming home with injuries, or they would have charged him earlier. So, if you’re not “heimish” you get arrested for a little discipline? I guess it’s a whole new world now; presumably parents can’t slap their kids either. Whatever happened to Shlomo HaMelech’s; “Choisen shivtoi soineh bnoi”?
