Rav Yitzchak Bitton, a 25-year-old father of two, was riding his electric scooter on a central street in Afula at 5:45 AM when he was hit by a car and flung to the ground. MDA paramedics and medics found him unconscious with a serious head injury and after a short time declared him dead. The driver of the car, a 40-year-old woman, felt sick and required medical treatment. She was transferred to hospital for further tests.
Rav Bitton z’l was the son of R’ Binyamin Bitton, director of the Akko Beis Hachaim for over 30 years. He was a grandson of the Mekubal Rabbi Avraham Bitton z’ts’l. In his youth he studied at Ohr Letzion Yeshiva under Rabbi Eliyahu Abba Shaul. Recently he moved to Afula, serving as a Mashgiach at a Haifa slaughter house and studying Torah on a daily basis.
He is survived by his wife and two children, the youngest just a month old, as well as parents, sisters and brothers who mourn his untimely passing. His levaya will take place in Akko at 4 PM.
May his memory be blessed.
Why does it matter that he was chareidi?
