Does Yair Lapid’s Wife Lihia Believe In The Christian Messiah?

36

JERUSALEM (VINnews) — A number of disturbing clips claim that Lihia Lapid, wife of Israeli prime minister Yair Lapid, believes in the New Testament and Jesus. The clips also refer to Lapid’s facebook page, in which a missionary claimed to have seen her at a rally for believers in Jesus. Lapid’s page erased this information but a title remained there stating that “Jesus is definitely on the other side.” Lihia Lapid, whose greatgrandfather Rabbi Amiel was the rabbi of Tel Aviv, has denied the claims that she believes in Jesus as “ridiculous”. However the title remained on her Facebook page.

Missionary claims Lihia Lapid also believes in Jesus.

Recently after Lapid’s sister-in-law Ila’il Keren was appointed as JNF director it was revealed that she and her husband had been members of a Messianic Jews group.

In the past Yair Lapid has also said that “My ancestral lineage includes Moshe Rabbeinu, Jesus and the Rambam.”

Notice that there are references to things people allegedly said, but no links or citations to tell the reader where those “quotes” came from.

So I’ve not been able to find anything about this supposed sister in-law. A quick search found that the minister in question admitted he’d made the remark in error.

And as for Lapid’s comment? Here’s the full quote, which makes it hard to argue he’s claiming to be a Christian (any more than he’s claming to be a chess grandmaster or a folk singer)

“I am a Zionist,” Lapid sais. “I am a man of the future who also lives his past. I am from the line of Moses, Jesus, the Rambam (Rabbi Moses Maimonides), Sigmund Freud, Karl Marx, Albert Einstein, Woody Allen, Bobby Fischer, Bob Dylan, Kafka, Herzl, Ben Gurion. I am part of a tiny persecuted minority that influenced the world more than any other nation. While others invested their energies in war, we had the sense to invest in our minds.”

There are billions of Christians that would be very interested in Lapid’s ancestry, as the consensus is that Jesus did not leave any progeny.

Any “bombshell” that comes out about someone, or his family a week before an election probably has no merit.

If this is true it is beyond shameful. It seems possible based on the information.

That’s a step up from Zionism, at least.
Zionism believes in godless Nationalist idolatry.

It’s so sad that people commenting here think that, it is “beyond shameful” for her to believe in essentially a form of Christianity, yet they find no shame in her husband and others believing in total kefirah and avoda zara (Zionism).
