After Meretz Activist Makes Obscene Gesture With Tefillin, Other Meretz Members Put On Tefillin

JERUSALEM (VINnews) — In a shocking act of degradation towards Tefillin, a Meretz activist in Netanya came to a Chabad Tefillin station and made an obscene gesture with the Tefillin. The gesture was widely criticized by all political elements including the Meretz party itself, which said that it did not recognize the activist and that he had not acted in accordance with Meretz values.

Uri Zaki, director of Meretz and husband of MK Esther Sandberg, has stated in the past that he has placed Tefillin every day since his Bar Mitzva. Zaki said that “I saw the shocking clip of Tefillin desecration by a person wearing a Meretz shirt. After examination nobody in Meretz knows this person including the Netanya branch where this occurred. This is not the way of Meretz. I would not be surprised if this were an imposter who is trying to arouse hatred and to change voting patterns.”

In response, a number of Meretz members went to Chabad Tefillin stations and put on Tefillin to show that they identify with the Mitzvah.

I wonder if that jack**s gets any reward for spurring others to put on Tefillin.

even though I am opposed to Meretz’s political values, I think they acted properly by distancing themselves from this rotten guy and going over to put on tephilin.

Should Tfillin be in the street rather than in Shul or the Bais Medrash?

This is what is taught in Zionists schools, tefillin is bad, toeiva is good. Shabbos is bad and intermarriage is good.
