John Fetterman’s victory over Mehmet Oz flipped a Pennsylvania Senate seat to Democrat — but his win could be countered should Republican Adam Laxalt overcome senator Catherine Cortez Masto in Nevada.
Before Tuesday’s elections, the Senate was deadlocked at 50-50 between Republicans and the Democratic caucus, with vice-president Kamala Harris able to use her tie-breaking vote when required.
With Republicans currently leading in three of the five swing states, if they win them they would need one more to gain a majority. In Arizona, Democrat Mark Kelly is leading Republican Blake Masters but only 63% of votes have been reported. The election in Georgia is too close to call and may end up going to a run-off on December 6 if neither candidate gains 50%.
Senate contests that were expected to be competitive in Ohio, New Hampshire and Colorado have all been held by their incumbents.
In the high-profile congressional race between Republican Mike Lawler and incumbent Sean Maloney, Lawler has a slim advantage with 95% of votes reported.
Zeldin LOST!
The sky is falling!
Pretty bad day for us although we have congress. Maybe this will diminish Trumps rise and end this stupidity of nominating crazy guys like Herschel. Let’s go back to finding more stable people please
