IDF Arrests Senior Islamic Jihad Terrorist, 1 Terrorist Killed In Bethlehem Arrest Operation

JERUSALEM (VINnews) — A son of the head of Islamic Jihad (PIJ) in Jenin was arrested by IDF soldiers on suspicion of terrorist activity. Yahya Saadi, the son of Bassem Saadi, the currently detained leader of the PIG, is himself a terrorist leader suspected of involvement in the group’s terror activities. When his father was arrested in August, the Islamic Jihad in Gaza fired a barrage of rockets on Israel in retaliation for the arrest. On Saturday night rockets were also fired towards Israel, apparently after two Islamic Jihad terrorists were eliminated in Jenin.

In another incident which occurred during IDF arrest operations in Bethlehem, a Palestinian was killed and six others were wounded after they opened fire on IDF troops at the Dehaishe refugee camp. The IDF reported that the clashes broke out during the arrest of three suspected members of the PFLP terror group.

Palestinian man was killed amid clashes with Israeli troops in the southern West Bank early Monday, Palestinian health officials said, as the military said it arrested the son of a senior terror official in the city of Jenin.

According to the Palestinian Authority Health Ministry, 22-year-old Omar Manna was shot dead and six others were hurt by Israeli troops’ gunfire in the Dheisheh refugee camp, south of Bethlehem.

Three wanted terrorists were arrested, including Yazan Youssef Hassan Fararja, the 24-year-old brother of a slain terrorist; Uday Abu Nassar, 24; and Uday’s brother, 27-year-old Moaz Essam Abu Nassar.

The Israel Defense Forces said clashes had erupted during the arrest of  the three who are members of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine terror group.

“During the operation, suspects threw stones, Molotov cocktails, and explosives at the troops, who responded by shooting,” the IDF said, adding that “hits were identified.”
