WASHINGTON (VINnews) — Long Island Congressman George Santos, who has come under fire after misleading voters about a range of items, including falsely claiming to be Jewish and fabricating a glitzy resume, posted a tweet Wednesday insisting that he will not resign.

Santos wrote: “I was elected to serve the people of #NY03 not the party & politicians, I remain committed to doing that and regret to hear that local officials refuse to work with my office to deliver results to keep our community safe and lower the cost of living. I will NOT resign!”

He was also asked on camera by a reporter whether he would resign, and reaffirmed his refusal.

Santos is facing multiple investigations by prosecutors over his personal and campaign finances and lies about his resume and family heritage.
The statements came in response to local Republican leaders in New York who called for his immediate resignation.
“His lies were not mere fibs. He disgraced the House of Representatives,” Joseph Cairo Jr., chair of the Nassau County Republican Committee, said at a news conference. “He’s not welcome here at Republican headquarters.”
He was elected under false pretenses he doesn’t represent anyone because nobody would’ve elected this loser
I happily endorse the new law being proposed that politicians who lie about this credentials to get elected should face charges . I heard they want to name the law in his honor.

Good he shouldn’t resign, Biden has lied his whole life about his life story, a few weeks ago he claimed to talk to his father and give his uncle an award after he was elected VP in ’08 when in reality his father had died in 2002 and his uncle in 1999. Warren lied about being a Native American, Blumenthal about serving in Vietnam.
Santos is the gift that will keep on giving — to the Democrats!

I’m so torn on this one. At first I wanted him to step down especially because he lied about being Jewish. But as I thought about it, the Dems have so many people in service that continue to lie daily so what stops them?
why should he resign? we are living an a post truth world where fact no longer matter, where reality is a spaghetti bent and flavored to each’s preference.
Are his frum supporters ok with him lying about having Jewish grandparents who survived the Shoah? About his being a Jew? Now he says he’s catholic brazilian. And gay despite beubg married to a shiksa for 5 years.
I suppose he ought to be forced to resign. I wonder if he will be.
GOP Republican Committee, which raised $500,000 for disgraced George Santos, made a public statement today DEMANDING HE RESIGN.
I SO want this shred of human debris to be removed from Congress. Even more, I want the Republican party to learn the lesson and never run any pervert for any office.
