In Tragic Accident, 22-Year-Old Bet Shemesh Resident Killed, Sister In Serious Condition

JERUSALEM (VINnews) — BDE: In a tragic accident which occurred at Tel Yarmut near Bet Shemesh, Yisrael Levinstein, a 22-year-old young resident of the Ramah Bet neighborhood in Bet Shemesh was killed when his ATV overturned at the site. Levinstein’s sister, Ruth Altman (29), a mother of three children, was seriously injured in the accident and is hospitalized at Hadassah Ein Kerem in unstable condition. The family went for a trip to the Yarmut park, an archaological site adjacent to Ramah Heh in southern Bet Shemesh and because the place was empty, the injured persons were only found half an hour after the accident.

Rabbi Avraham Kopf, the head of Zaka Bet Shemesh, said that “we arrived at the site at night after the accident. It was a tough scene, a cruel family tragedy. People should daven for the sister’s recovery.

Yisrael Levinstein z’l was the son if Rav Dovid, a well-known figure who immigrated to Bet Shemesh from the former USSR and established his family in Ramah Bet. Yisrael was one of 13 children Bli Ayin Hara.

Friends described his as a talented individual who loved to help people and was an expert electrician.
