WASHINGTON (Yaakov M / VINnews) — Squad member Rashida Tlaib got slammed by Twitter’s “”Community Notes” fact-check feature, after the Muslim Congresswoman spread lies about Israel and Kevin McCarthy.

Tlaib tweeted, “Speaker McCarthy wants to rewrite history but the apartheid state of Israel was born out of violence and the ethnic cleansing of Palestinians. 75 years later, the Nakba continues to this day.”
Tlaib’s vicious tweet coincided with Speaker McCarthy’s historic Israel visit in which he spoke at the Knesset and bestowed praise on Israel, was instantly greeted by Twitter notes pointing out several “errors’ ‘.

The fact-check points out that Israel was created by a UN General Assembly Resolution.
It also noted that the “ethnic cleansing” Tlaib claimed happened “affected both Jewish and Arab communities caught up in the war initiated by 5 Arab states who opposed the existence of Israel.”
The final note pointed out that Israel has over 20% Arab citizens who have “full and equal rights.”
Tlaib’s tweet was blasted by many, including former Trump Ambassador to Israel David Friedman.
“You’re a bit off on this congresswoman,” Friedman said on Twitter. “Actually, the State of Israel was born notwithstanding the unsuccessful Palestinian attempts at ethnic cleansing to remove the Jews, through acts of terror and collaboration with Hitler (whose dear friend was Grand Mufti of Jerusalem).”

Rockland Congressman Mike Lawler, who represents Monsey and New Square, and attended the trip with McCarthy, slammed Tlaib as well.

It’s not easy to vilify her when certain very choshuveh rebbes refer to the day the state was founded as “that bitter day,” basically, the nakbah. Obviously the hashkafos behind the two are diametrically opposed, but in the real world, all the rotzchim need is to know that there are bearded Orthodox Jews that consider the founding of “The Jewish State” to be a tragic event. That’s why the American definition of treason is giving your enemies “aid and comfort.”
