JERUSALEM (VINnews) — Rabbi Leo Dee, who lost his wife and two daughters in a horrific terror attack in the Jordan Valley on Chol Hamoed Pesach, responded to the recent events including the deadly terror attack near Eli and the violent clashes that erupted in response, including indiscriminate burning of Arab cars and homes.

“I am heartbroken about the terror attack in Eli where 4 innocent Israelis were murdered last week, and I offer prayers for a speedy recovery for the injured”, he wrote, “I applaud the brave Jew who neutralized the first terrorist and prevented further murder, and the IDF for locating the second terrorist and neutralizing him within hours.”

“Now that the majority of the world’s Jewish population is living in our ancestral homeland and the state is 75 years old, 3 generations, we are here FOREVER”, Dee added, “And our purpose? To be a light unto the nations.”

Rabbi Dee related to the recent riots perpetrated by Jewish activists: “Jewish violence against innocent Arabs is a Chilul Hashem which only creates darkness in the world.”

“The elimination of terror is essential, but this must be done by professionals”, he added, “The IDF is the most experienced army in the world. Leave it to them.”

“Killing terrorists is humane and a Kiddush Hashem, a sanctification of God’s name”, Rabbi Dee concluded, “Terrorising innocent Arabs is a crime against humanity, a Chilul Hashem (a desecration of God’s name) and cannot be atoned for in a lifetime.”

On Shabbat settlers allegedly set fire to Palestinian property in the village of Umm Tzafa near Ramallah. Violent clashes broke out between settlers and local residents and IDF and Border Police were forced to use means to disperse demonstrations. Prior to this, settlers had rampaged in other Arab villages after the Eli attack on Tuesday.

IDF Chief Of Staff Hertzi Halevi, Shin Bet head Ronen Bar and Police commissioner Kobi Shabtai issued a joint statement, stressing that “These attacks are against every moral and Jewish value and are also nationalist terrorism in every sense, and we are obliged to fight them.”

Nice to have a voice of reason and sanity, especially from someone who, unfortunately, has “skin in the game” (i.e., “directly involved” in a terrorist attack).

The Israeli government should do its job. Israel needs to take complete control of Yehuda and Shomron and deport Arabs who don’t recognize Israel and who celebrate terrorist attacks

Very true, but the young Israelis living in the settlements are beyond angry. They are imitating the Palestinians, and possibly killed one Palestinian during the rampages. Setting fires, especially on Shabbos, is disgusting. regardless if they personally are shomer Shabbos, or not. Yet, perhaps in a different way, the Palestinians need to see, and feel, that terrorizing the Jews will come back to haunt them, on their streets, cars, etc. They have to see the Israeli people, not just the IDF, have had enough.
