JERUSALEM (VINnews) — Clashes erupted Friday evening between Palestinian Arabs and Jewish residents of Judea and Samaria in the village of Burqa, in the Binyamin region east of Ramallah.

PA sources claimed that Jews from the outpost of Oz Tzion had entered nearby Burqa and were confronted by locals. In the ensuing clashes, they claimed, the Jews shot dead a Palestinian Arab, who was later identified as 19-year-old Qusay Jamal Matan, a local resident.
Besides the teen who was shot dead, the sources said that two other Arabs were injured from rocks. The governor of Ramallah arrived at the hospital in which the wounded victims are being treated, Ynet reported.
Sources associated with the Jewish residents of Oz Tzion said that one man had been seriously injured by a stone which hit his head and that the settler who fired his gun felt in serious danger when he shot. Despite this police have arrested two settlers in connection with the killing, including Elisha Yered, a resident of Ramat Migron and former aide of MK Limor Son Har-Melech (Jewish Force).
The IDF Spokesperson’s Unit said in a statement, “A Palestinian report was received regarding violent clashes between Israeli civilians and Palestinians about an hour ago in the town of Burqa.”
“It was reported that during the clashes, Israeli civilians shot toward the Palestinians and as a result, there was a Palestinian casualty. Reports were also received regarding Israeli civilians injured by rocks hurled at them.”
“Following the report, IDF, ISA, and Israel Police arrived at the scene and are currently investigating the event,” it added.
Israeli security officials confirmed that a Jewish resident of Oz Tzion shot dead a Palestinian Arab youth in Burqa.
The sources said that several residents from Oz Tzion had arrived at the village and argued with the locals about an issue related to land ownership.
