44-year-old Sefi (Yosef) Singer is a partner in the Corporate and Securities Department of Herzog-Fox-Neeman and oversees the bankruptcy and insolvency practice in the firm. Until recently, he served in the Ministry of Justice in a number of positions, where he was head of insolvency and taxation and responsible for special affairs in the Department of Management and Special Affairs in Counseling and Legislation department.

Seffy’s practice assists companies and financial institutions in insolvency proceedings, as well as companies and boards in financial difficulty. To that end, he works closely with other departments in the firm, including Banking and Finance and Litigation.

As part of his job at the Ministry of Justice, Seffy led the drafting of the Insolvency and Economic Rehabilitation Law, 2018 in the government and Knesset.

Singer’s appointment was affirmed by the Appointments Committee despite the opposition of the legal advisor to the Treasury, attorney Asi Messing, who felt that he did not have the right qualifications for the role.

Finance Minister Betzalel Smotrich, who had promoted the appointment of Singer, said that “I wish to congratulate attorney Sefi Singer and wish him great success. I believe in Sefi and in the capabilities he brings with him. His experience in both the private and public sectors in economic affairs and specifically regarding securities will strengthen the ISA and the Israeli economy, and I thank the appointments committee for ratifying the appointment.”

He may be charaidi, but why doesn’t this article tell us about his education? Nobody gets to his position by only having a cheder type of secular education. There should be more such men who study accounting, law, etc. Without a baseline number of working chareidi men in higher level positions, younger men may feel disheartened that they aren’t cut out for long term learning, or their finances simply don’t allow, yet hesitate because they don’t want to be breaking new ground. Here in America, this isn’t an issue. This is a simple truth.

the fact that they cut the picture so you can’t see if he has a kippa or not, plus no beard, tells me that he isn’t into orthodoxy as we know it.
