JERUSALEM (VINnews) — The IDF Spokesperson’s Unit on Thursday morning released the names of three fallen IDF soldiers whose families have been notified. Eight other soldiers were seriously injured in the northern and southern Gaza strip.

Sergeant Lavi Gihasi, 19, from Hashmonaim, a village near Modi’in, fell in battle in the northern Gaza Strip.

The Binyamin Regional Council said, “We embrace the parents Orit and Yaakov, and siblings Noam, Yagel, Yedidya and the entire Ghasi family, and will share the funeral details when available.”
Lieutenant Yaacov Elian, 20, from Ramat Gan, fell in battle in the northern Gaza Strip. Yaakov, a graduate of Amit Bar Ilan school, was a police volunteer and served in the Shaked battalion of the Givati brigade.

Lieutenant Omri Schwartz, 21, from Moshav Shadmot Dvora, who fell in battle in the northern Gaza Strip. His funeral will be held on Thursday at 2:00 p.m. at the local cemetery. Schwartz was a youth counselor who had spent a year volunteering in Kibbutz Beeri prior to his army service.

In addition, two soldiers were seriously injured in the same battle in which Shwartz and Elian fell. Six others were seriously injured in other clashes.
