A New Haven, Connecticut official chanted hate-filled ethnic cleansing slogans with a megaphone outside the Poupko household. The shocking scene was caught on video.
No surprise, the official has an anti-Semitic social media history
Thabisa Rich, New Haven’s Community Outreach Coordinator for the Department of Arts, Cultural and Tourism, set up outside the home of the local Rebbi and author, with a megaphone, after she noticed a “stand with Israel” yard sign.
Rabbi Poupko went out to confront her. “This Sunday, my wife informed me that someone was outside our house with a megaphone screaming pro-Palestinian chants,” he was quoted by Daily Wire. “I went outside and confronted her for protesting outside a private Jewish house when a car stopped and a masked man joined her.”
In videos, Rich can be heard repeatedly shouting “from the river to the sea, Palestine will be free.” She was later joined by her husband Charlie, who defended her and pressured Poupko to denounce Israel.
“We’re trying to get people to speak up,” hetold Rabbi Poupko when asked why the couple outside his home. “We’re advocating for peace.”
“How? By harassing Jews?” R. Poupko asked. “Harassing Jews is peace? What the heck is wrong with you?”
He accused Thabisa Rich of engaging in “Nazi behavior,” to which Charlie Rich responded, “well, you do have a sign that says you support Israel.”

Rabbi Poupko said New Haven Mayor Justin Elicker called him to discuss the incident.
“The reason he called is because there are many Jews in the neighborhood, and many were very shaken and felt targeted,” he said.
A representative for the mayor said: “While people have very different and strongly held views on the war between Israel and Hamas, the mayor believes there is an appropriate time, place, and manner in which to express them. Mayor Elicker believes Ms. Rich exercised very poor judgement in this regard and finds several of her personal social media posts to be concerning and offensive.”
Rich has a history of antisemitic social media posts, although she later deleted her Facebook page where she had posted video of her antisemitism.
During the Super Bowl on Sunday, Rich said she was “sick of these Jew focused ads.”
She commented on the situation with Poupko as well, stating that she was “insulted and intimidated by the jewish family (that just moved in 3 months ago).”
“She wrote on social media she is being harassed by a Jewish family when she is the one who showed up with a megaphone in front of my house,” Poupko said.
This woman should go back to her own country, South Africa, and fix it. It has deteriorated terribly in recent years. It is a cesspool of crime and corruption, dangerous and violent, with blackouts, an economic mess, etc., etc. (to divert attention from their terrible failures and crimes they attack Israel). Why does she not go back there to fix it?
What a bizarre approach to ‘community outreach’ . Adding a t to nazi is the perfect final touch. Our tax dollars and DEI at work.
How many hamas democrats elected to congress will it take Poupko to vote Republican?
The Rabbi needs to gile a Police Report against her ASAP.
South Africans like this have destroyed their own country. Now they aim their destruction elsewhere, posing as rescuers and fixers. Seeing their success record at home, no one should pay them heed.

Hopefully she has a 20 hr trip home bc the roads and bridges she needs are blocked off by protesters. Then, when she finally rests her tired head on pillow, she can’t sleep from megaphone noise memories ringing in her ears. Next morning she visits doctor, he brings her into patient room and asks her to wait while he fetches something. Doctor returns with Rabbi Poupko and says I understand you’ve already met my family.
so why were the POLICE not called?
If she is in fact a publicly funded (government) employee she needs to be terminated immediately!
And this doesn’t qualify as disorderly conduct? Can anyone do this without a permit? What about noise ordinances?
