The venerable Rosh Yeshiva himself was the Sandek for his son and Rabbi Moshe Sternbuch Shlita, the Gaavad (Head of Beis Din) of the Eda Charedis, said the Brachos and announced the name, which is Eliyahu (The Rosh Yeshiva’s father was named Eliyahu and was a direct descendant of the Vilna Gaon).

The joy at the unusual Bris was palpable, and the yeshiva students broke out in song, wishing the Rosh Yeshiva long life and to be zoche to see “Banim U’Vnei Banim”.
The Rosh Yeshiva himself spoke after the Bris, stating that the concept of Amalek is still very much present in the world, claiming that everything is Mikreh- random, and that there is no divine providence, and this is our mitzvah to eradicate the Amalekite viewpoint and see the divine providence in every aspect of our lives. He stressed that “There is no despair (yeush) in the world at all” and gave gratitude for the amazing miracle of his son’s birth.
Afterwards the festivities continued at the Seudas Mitzva, which was also attended by Rabbi Sternbuch.
