LEBANON (VINnews) — A new campaign in Lebanon is calling for a boycott of Pepsi, claiming that the brand’s new logo looks too much like…the Israeli flag! Apparently the iconic cola company’s new logo, displayed on its bottles and caps, has recently changed to a design that reminds the Lebanese people too much of Israel’s flag colors.

Previously, the company logo was colored in red, blue, and white, but its new symbol is colored only blue and white, with the name Pepsi near the same center point where the Star of David is on the Israeli flag.
This change sparked outrage in Lebanon, with social media users posting images and videos, one of which showing a group of people pouring out the contents of Pepsi bottles, and another with bottles thrown on the ground.
There have been calls to boycott Coca-Cola as well, “because of their contributions to Israel.”
Several towns in Lebanon announced they were banning Pepsi vehicles from entering their areas on Thursday. One truck was turned back from the Qasr region, and the driver was asked to inform the company not to send vehicles there again.
Israel Hayom, the outlet which first reported the boycott, says that Pepsi has not announced an official change to its logo, but Lebanese citizens were outraged after noticing a blue-and-white redesign on its caps. However the outlet could not independently confirm the photos’ accuracy.
They changed the logo because all that red ink was harming their bottom line
Only a demented moslem would concoct such a dumb statement. Unless Isreal now owns Pepsi
What a mentally retarded muslim! Pro Israel logo? You know something, no one needs you to drink it. They’ll do fine without you. Probably if you don’t drink it they’ll do better!
I’m boycotting “Lebanon” because it sounds too similar to “Leben” and Leben doesn’t agree with me.
Ironically Pepsi observed the Arab boycott of Israel for years.
