In contrast, opposition to the idea is as follows:5% of charedim, 17% of religious Jews, 50% of secular Jews
The poll also shows that 76% of respondents who expressed an opinion believe that Israel made a mistake by carrying out the 2005 unilateral disengagement from Gaza. Only 24% think the move was the right decision.
As for the related question of whether a similar disengagement from parts of the West Bank (Judea and Samaria) could happen, 64% said they believe such a step is not feasible.
A frequently debated question in Israeli public discourse is whether the 2005 Disengagement, which occurred exactly 20 years ago, ultimately led to the October 7th massacre. According to the poll, 56% believe that had the Disengagement not happened, the likelihood of the October 7 attacks would have been much lower. 44% believe the October 7 events would have occurred regardless of the 2005 withdrawal from Gush Katif
This poll reflects growing public skepticism about past disengagement policies and increased support for a return to Gaza, particularly in the context of recent events and national security concerns.
unfortunately, it is the secular, liberal, leftists who truly believe in living in peace with the Arabs. It was mainly their kibbutzim that Hamas destroyed.
