Netanyahu took to Twitter to honor Kirk, calling him “a lion-hearted friend of Israel” and a staunch defender of freedom. “Charlie Kirk was murdered for speaking truth and defending freedom. He fought the lies and stood tall for Judeo-Christian civilization,” Netanyahu wrote. “I spoke to him only two weeks ago and invited him to Israel. Sadly, that visit will not take place. The Israeli Prime Minister highlighted Kirk’s unwavering support for Israel and his efforts to combat antisemitism. He emphasized that Kirk’s work in educating young Americans about Israel’s challenges and promoting pro-Israel advocacy was both courageous and impactful.
Netanyahu’s tribute comes amid a global outpouring of grief from pro-Israel leaders and organizations, many of whom echoed his words in honoring Kirk’s commitment to the Jewish state.
Kirk, 31, was known for his vocal pro-Israel stance on college campuses and in American political discourse, frequently defending Israel in debates and public forums. Netanyahu’s acknowledgment underscores the significant bond Kirk had forged with Israel and its leadership in his advocacy work.
