Flensburg Shop Owner Sparks Outrage with Antisemitic Sign

FLENSBURG, Germany — A shop in the northern German city of Flensburg, near the Danish border on the Baltic Sea, has drawn widespread condemnation after owner Hans Velten Reisch posted a sign reading, “Jews are banned from here! Nothing personal. No antisemitism. Just can’t stand you.” The sign was removed from the window after police were alerted, though it reportedly remains inside the store.

The incident has provoked strong reactions locally and online, with many calling it reminiscent of the Nazi era and demanding boycotts. The shop’s window was vandalized with slogans such as “Nazis out” the following day.

Flensburg Mayor Fabian Geyer called the sign a “clear statement against Jews in our society” with no place in the city. Political leaders, including members of the Greens, SPD, and Germany’s Federal Commissioner for Jewish Life Felix Klein, denounced the notice as antisemitic, warning of legal consequences. Police confirmed multiple complaints have been filed, now under review for potential criminal charges, including incitement.

Reisch, 60, has run the technical literature shop since 2016. He rejects accusations of being a Nazi or extremist, claiming the sign targeted individuals supporting Israel’s war, not Jews in general. He defended the message as personal opinion and said he did not intend to incite hatred.

For U.S. readers unfamiliar with Flensburg, the city is part of Germany’s Schleswig-Holstein state and has a long maritime history with a mix of German and Danish cultural influences. Its location on the Flensburg Fjord, near the Baltic Sea, makes it an important regional trading hub.

In case you were wondering why Hashem put into the minds of European leaders to import tens of millions of violent, anti-civilization Islamists and sub-Saharans who have wreaked havoc on European citizenry….
