NEW YORK (VINnews) — Prime Minister Netanyahu has changed his schedule and is now focusing entirely on preparing for the upcoming meeting with President Trump. It was reported on Monday morning that Israel and the United States have reached agreements on the vast majority of issues, ahead of the crucial meeting scheduled to take place today. The meeting with President Trump is expected to conclude with an announcement of an agreement to end the war and bring back the hostages.

Despite this, there are still several points of contention: One of them concern Qatar’s role in the “day after”: Israel wants to cut all contact with the main financier of Hama, while Trump still wants Qatar to play a role in Gaza’s reconstruction process.
Another significant issue debated was Israel’s freedom of military action in Gaza in the event that Hamas attempts to rebuild.
Above all, the main unresolved question remains:Will Hamas accept the deal that Trump is expected to propose, which will effectively minimize its role in the future of Gaza?
President Yitzchak Herzog spoke on Monday morning on Israel’s Kan Reshet Bet radio station regarding President Trump’s plan:
“Today will be a decisive and historic meeting. I pray and hope that it will yield a positive result and lead to a framework for returning all the hostages, ending the war, and changing the reality,” said Herzog.
Amid voices from Netanyahu’s inner circle expressing pessimism about Trump’s proposal, Herzog made it clear: “I support the adoption of the American plan so that we can move forward and view the ‘day after’ in a way that aligns with the goals we’ve set: bringing the hostages home and changing the reality in Gaza. The proposed plan is supposed to ensure that Hamas no longer rules Gaza. From what I know, this is a serious, revolutionary, and important initiative.”
The president was also asked about the delegitimization campaign against Israel and Israelis abroad. He responded: “These are part of the enemy’s attempts to weaken us.”
On Sunday night, a delegation of leaders from the Yesha Council (the umbrella organization of Judea and Samaria settlements) met with the Prime Minister. Members of the delegation sought to express their support for Netanyahu ahead of his crucial meeting with President Trump.
During the meeting, they made a clear demand: that Netanyahu express to the U.S. President Israel’s intent to prevent the establishment of a Palestinian state by applying Israeli sovereignty over Judea and Samaria. The delegation described the meeting as “long and in-depth” and said that Netanyahu committed to expressing to Trump that Judea and Samaria are an inseparable part of sovereign Israel.
However, the council leaders left the meeting deeply concerned over one major issue:The Prime Minister did not commit to a specific timeline for implementing sovereignty in practice. At the end of the meeting, it was agreed that the Prime Minister’s Office and the Yesha Council leadership would hold a follow-up meeting in Washington, which is scheduled for tomorrow, after Netanyahu’s meeting with President Trump, in order to continue discussing the matter.
What ever happened with destroying Hamas?
These plans will lead to more bloodshed and empower terrorism.
