JERUSALEM (VINnews) — US Middle East envoy Steve Witkoff spoke on Saturday night in Tel Aviv’s Hostages Square to a packed crowd of an estimated 100,000 participants. Witkoff said that he had “dreamed of this night, it’s been a long journey.”

Witkoff added that he wished the President were here, as he would have loved this. (Trump is due to land in the Middle East on Monday, but is unlikely to address the Israeli public in Hostages Square). He lauded President Trump as “the greatest president in American history” who had succeeded in brokering a peace deal where so many other efforts had failed.
“I only wished the (US) President was here. He would love this”

The crowd responded by roaring “Thank you, Trump”, but did not share the same enthusiasm when Witkoff mentioned Netanyahu’s role in bringing about the peace.
Witkoff added that “tonight we are celebrating something extraordinary which many thought was impossible. Miracles can happen.”
