JERUSALEM — The young man who tragically fell during a draft rally on Shazar Boulevard has been identified as Menachem Mendel Litzman, 20. According to reports, Litzman climbed to a high point on the “Migdal Marom” building during the rally before losing his footing and falling.

Paramedics from Magen David Adom arrived at the scene to find Litzman unconscious, without a pulse or respiration, and suffering severe, multiple traumatic injuries. Despite immediate emergency care, his injuries proved fatal, and he was pronounced dead on site.

United Hatzalah medics, including Wasif Gabay, Moshe Fordsham, and Eliyahu Lapidot, confirmed the severity of the fall, emphasizing the dangers of accessing high or unstable structures during large public events. They urged participants to strictly follow safety guidelines and to avoid climbing rooftops, construction sites, or bus stations to prevent similar accidents.

The incident casts a shadow over what was otherwise a massive, peaceful rally in Jerusalem attended by hundreds of thousands of participants. Funeral arrangements for Litzman will be announced in the coming days.

Authorities and emergency services continue to remind the public about the importance of safety during large gatherings, particularly in areas not designed for public access.

BDE. Such a sad tragedy:( May Hamokom menachem the family B’soch Saar Cholei Yisrael Andy there only be Besuros Tovos.

The news was showing so much chaos, young bochrim claiming without safety nets, building and crates, and there was no control. It was shocking. I thinknthat as soon and the ones in charge saw this, they should have just told everyone to go home. It looks like it wasn’t well organized, and it was out of controll..

    May there only be Simchas!

Would be appropriate at this point to add that its pretty conclusive that this was suicide…

It is being reported that this was a suicide, in the typical sense. But it’s important to be aware, for the purpose of suicide prevention, that even if it were an accident there would be a strong possibility that it’s also suicide. You might think that people who go to dangerous places and put themselves in dangerous situations are just being stupid. But very often, people who are suicidal but ambivalent start to engage in risky behavior, leaving it up to chance, not always sure what outcome they’re hoping for.

The take away is that Charedim are unable to take accountability and responsibility like normal members of society. The entitlement is disgraceful.
Instead of being Moser Nefesh defending Eretz Yisroel, they’re Moser Nefesh for stupidity
