WATCH: Mamdani In Arabic Ad With Palestinian Flag Behind Him

NEW YORK (VINnews) — In an attempt to sway Arabic-speaking voters in NY, Zohran Mamdani has reverted to speaking their language. In an ad published on Saturday, Mamdani appears in a candy shop owned by two brothers from Jordan, as well as in a store with a prominent Palestinian flag behind him, and doles out promises of change to New York’s population.

Mamdani admits his Arabic is not perfect (His mother tongue is English or maybe even Hindi) but he does identify as an Arab -“I look like your brother-in-law from Damascus” and even tries out a favored Middle Eastern dish of knafeh before promising long-suffering New Yorkers that he will freeze the rent for two million of them and provide free transportation and universal childcare.

All this comes with a price – a significant raise in taxes as well as harming those investors who wish to gain more from their properties- but Mamdani is convinced that his communist policies will resonate with the lower classes and propel him to the mayoral seat.

Current polls may be of more concern to him, as a new poll shows that Mamdani’s lead over Andrew Cuomo has narrowed to just 6.6 points, the slimmest edge he’s held since July.

The new AtlasIntel survey has Democratic candidate Mamdani leading the field with 40.6%, and the former New York governor, a registered Democrat running as an independent, clawing up to 34% just days before Tuesday’s election.

“The gap is closing fast — we can feel it on the ground everywhere from the Bronx to Staten Island. At this rate, we win the race. Keep going strong,” Cuomo said.
