SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA (VINnews) — Armed terrorists opened fire this morning during Hanukkah celebrations at Bondi Beach in Sydney, Australia, leaving reports of at least three fatalities and multiple injuries. Witnesses described scenes of panic as attendees fled the popular venue. According to local media, the gunmen fled the scene, but have been apprehended by police.

Sky News reported that around 2,000 members of the Jewish community were gathered for the event, which was held in the evening local time. As one of the community leaders was speaking, chaos ensued as people began fleeing. It was later revealed that the panic was caused by gunfire at the venue. Opposition Leader Kelly Sloane was scheduled to address the crowd during the event.

People fleeing the scene of mass shooting in Sydney, Australia
A member of the Jewish community in Australia, who was on her way to the celebration, shared her experience: “There was mass panic. This is a Chabad-organized event mainly for parents with young children. From what I understand, there’s great fear. Everyone was pushed further up the beach for safety. Australians aren’t used to events like this, so right now, I’m trying to reassure my friend who was nearby but wasn’t injured.”
The situation is still developing, with reports indicating up to 10 fatalities and 60 people injured. Local authorities have not confirmed the full extent of the damage, and police are urging people to avoid the area as they continue their investigation. Police added that they have succeeded in arresting two shooters at the attack, and are searching for possible accomplices.

When Australia refused to admit those from cultures who celebrate death, these problems did not exist. Unfortunately, Australia made the same misguided decision as Europe made, whereby it decided to admit many thousands of Muslims who hate the West, and Jews in particular.
