Passaic, NJ – The City Council will try again next week to fill a vacancy left by the resignation of a disgraced councilman Marcellus Jackson, who resigned in December after pleading guilty to a federal corruption charge.

The council had put the appointment of Terrence Love, on the agenda for Tuesday's regularly scheduled meeting, but the absence of three council members forced the meeting to be canceled for lack of a quorum.

Absent were Chaim Munk, Daniel Schwartz and council President Gary Schaer.

Munk said Wednesday that jet lag prevented him from attending the meeting.

"I just got back from Israel. … I was knocked out," he said, adding he had returned home Friday.

Schaer and Schwartz did not return phone calls for comment.

Their absences angered fellow council members and some city residents, who felt their lack of attendance was an attempt to thwart Love's appointment.

Afterward, council member Gerry Fernandez said, "Were they all sick? Is there a sickness going around Third Ward Park?" The three absent members live in the area. "It's a clear attempt to put their agenda ahead of the city's business," Fernandez said. [northjersey]

This is actually one of the smarter things the three of them have done.

As for Anons 9:38 and 12:12, I am glad to see there they are is no need for anyone to raise a new generation of self-hating Jews. The old generation is still going strong.

Not that any of the media will mention this, but what they have prevented is the ex-con and currently under multiple indictments mayor from running the city as a one horse show. The other three members of the city council are very anti Third Ward residents, (a.k.a. JEWS) and with the forth member appointed by Sammy residents can expect the city to keep putting the interests of the downtown illeagal aliens ahead of the taxpaying American homeowners in the Third Ward.

If you think things are bad know you haven’t seen anything yet. At least with a mutually acceptable appointee the two of the Big Three who are trying to do the right thing stand a chance of getting things done in City Hall.

    anon 1212,

While not really a fan of the Big 3, this is politics and it makes no diff if its Passaic or any other city in the USA. They are using the system the way the rules are meant to be used.

Contrary to what you think, “getting along” with the ayno yehudi council members does NOT mean voting with them on everything. If this was the way to block an appointment, then so be it!

Dont think for a second they dont realize this could come back to haunt them in the future but this had to be done.

This just shows how the Jewish councilmen can never get along with the non-jewish ones, causing a massive chillul Hashem.

It’s the jewish council members verses the non-jewish council members and the non-jewish mayor.

    Way to go.

Lets explain this a little better its 3 jews vs 3 non jews so basically the mayor gets to decide so its going to be who ever the mayor wants because its going to be a tie and if there is a tie the mayor votes and his vote counts so the jewish councilmen did not show up because its not who they want
