A company spokesman says the ferry will be operated by New York Water Taxi and will travel from Pier 11 in lower Manhattan to Ikea’s dock in the isolated Red Hook neighborhood.
Ikea spokesman Joseph Roth says the new services would be available to anyone, not just customers of the store. The company also plans to operate shuttles from subway lines and expand bus routes to the 346,000-square-foot store.
The furniture retailer’s first New York City outlet opens on June 18.
Wonder what this ferry service will look like on Chol Hamoed.
