The officials said Monday that Officer Wayne Isaacs was placed on modified assignment after a security video surfaced that appears to cast doubt on an initial version of a fatal shooting of another motorist.
The shooting of Delrawn Small occurred on July 4 in Brooklyn while Isaacs was off-duty. A passenger with Small said he thought Isaacs cut him off and got out his car to confront him.
Police initially said they believed Isaacs only opened fire after Small punched the officer while the officer sat behind the wheel of his car. But a grainy security video appears to show Small getting gunned down the moment he walked up to the car.
As I wrote when it happened, the evil that can happen when guns are around.
What I didn’t know a week ago was that it would help feed even more death.
There are a lot of things we cannot control, but we can at least recognize the facts; namely that give are more likely to be used in suicide and accidental circumstances than in warding off criminals. And even in a situation like this, where there was a criminal, or at least a dumb hoodlum confronting another driver, the driver would have been much better off without a deadly weapon at his disposal.
In the coming days I have no doubt we will find out both men were drunk. Another lesson there.,
Why no protests from Black Lives Matter?
