Jersey City Shooter: ‘I Do This Because My Creator Makes Me Do This’

JERSEY CITY (VINnews) — David Anderson, one of two shooters who killed four people in Jersey City on Tuesday, apparently felt compelled by his creator to carry out this heinous crime.

Anderson wrote a note that read “I do this because my creator makes me do this and I hate who he hates,” according to a report on NYPost.com.

The note was discovered by investigators inside the van that was left behind by shooters David Anderson and Francine Graham.

There is evidence that Anderson and Graham expressed past interest in specific hate groups, most notably the Black Hebrew Israelites, but authorities believe they acted of their own volition, and not per the direction of any group, according to New Jersey Attorney General Gurbir Grewal.

Anderson and Graham kicked off their shooting spree by shooting and killing Jersey City Det. Joseph Seals at the Bayview Cemetery. They then headed to the nearby JC Kosher Supermarket, where they entered with drawn guns, and killed 3 civilians – Moshe Deutsch, 24, a Hasidic man who was visiting from Brooklyn; Leah Minda Ferencz, 33, a co-owner the Kosher grocery with her husband, who was not present at the time; and Miguel Douglas Rodriguez, 49, of Jersey City, who worked in the store.

Anderson and Graham were eliminated in the gun battle that ensued between them and the police from within the grocery store.

A wake for Seals will be held Monday with a funeral mass to follow Tuesday in Jersey City.

Funerals for Deutsch and Ferencz were held Wednesday in Brooklyn, New York.
