Cheder Menachem uses the facilities of Congregation B’nai Tikvah, a conservative temple located on Finnegans Ln in North Brunswick Township.
On Wednesday morning, they arrived at the building, walked the school out of the building, and told them the building would be locked, and they are no longer welcome there.
The reason they gave for expelling them is that they allegedly weren’t masking properly.
According to the school, the students and faculty were all, and have always been, masked and fully adhering to New Jersey state COVID regulations.
According to exclusive information provided to VINnews, video cameras in the building were installed using a federal security grant. But instead of using the cameras for the purposes of security, the building managers used it to snap a picture whenever they catch a student for a moment with their face uncovered.
Now, explains the school, although the school has a strict mask policy, there are times when a child would reasonably have his face uncovered for a moment, for example to have a snack etc. But of course when you snap a picture, all you see is the face uncovered for that moment, without any context.
According to the school, this is the method that was employed by the building managers to build a portfolio of snapshots to give the false impression of non-compliance.
Footage obtained on Wednesday by VINnews shows students and faculty, all masked, huddled up outside the building in freezing cold and rainy weather.
