(Yaakov M / VINnews) — On Sunday, President Joe Biden and Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu held a phone call, following a meeting in Egypt between Israeli and Palestinian officials in which they pledged to take steps to lower tensions.

Both the Biden administration and Netanyahu’s office released official readouts of the conversation, however both versions differed dramatically on the focus and overall tone of the call.

The White House described what seemed to be a tense phone call, in which Biden stressed his disagreement with Bibi’s judicial overhaul plan. He focused on democracy, compromise, as well as a two-state solution with the Palestinians.

However, Netanyahu’s version seemed heavily focused on the Iran threat, and only appeared to mention judicial reform as an afterthought.

Biden “underscored his belief that democratic values have always been, and must remain, a hallmark of the U.S.-Israel relationship.” He also offered his support for efforts to “forge a compromise” on judicial reform.

In addition, Biden reinforced the need for “security coordination” and maintaining the “viability of a two state solution”

The Israeli readout of the call said that the conversation “focused on the Iranian threat and expanding the circle of peace.”

On judicial overhaul, it said that “Netanyahu told President Biden that Israel was, and will remain, a strong and vibrant democracy.”

In response to the terrorist attack Sunday in Huwara, Netanyahu told Biden that Israel would continue to take action against terrorists.

The Israeli version of the call did not quote Biden’s supposed comments about compromise on judicial reform or a two-state solution. And while it did mention Israel’s Democratic values, the context was Netayahu’s reassurance that Israel will remain a strong and vibrant democracy, however no mention was made of Biden pressuring Netanyahu to that effect.

Bibi is back to his old self, a weak leader.

He gave up Chevron (for those of you who don’t remember how he fell for Clinton, could not stand strong in pressure). 25 years later the same weak Bibi!!!!

Compromise will only hurt him and Israel, but he lacks the courage to do the right thing.

Time for a new leader on the right
