New York, NY – Board of Elections: Trump Skipped Primary Voting Since 1989

New York, NY – Donald Trump says he’s considering running in the primary for the Republican presidential nomination, but the real estate mogul didn’t vote in primary elections for more than two decades, according to the New York City Board of Elections.

The possible GOP candidate voted in a primary election in the 1989 New York City mayor’s race — when Rudy Giuliani beat businessman Ronald Lauder — then didn’t vote in a primary for 21 years, board spokeswoman Valerie Vazquez said Saturday. The report on Trump’s voting record initially appeared on TV station NY1 a day earlier.

Records also show Trump skipped the 2002 general election, when Republican incumbent Gov. George Pataki defeated Democrat H. Carl McCall, Vazquez said. But Trump told the station he’s voted in every general election.

“You’re going to pay a big price because you’re wrong,” he told the station. “I have records that I voted and so does the Board of Elections … I signed in at every election.”

His lawyer, Michael Cohen, defended Trump’s voting practices Saturday.

“For one of the greatest international businessmen who travels all over the country and the world, his voting record is very, very good,” Cohen said.

Cohen said Trump could not be reached for comment Saturday. The lawyer also said he could not confirm which party Trump belonged to in previous years.

Besides real estate, Trump has been a reality TV star and he once flirted with the idea of running for president as a third-party candidate.

Recently, he said he’s weighing a 2012 presidential bid and will make an announcement in June.

Trump created media waves by aligning himself with the so-called “birthers” by questioning whether President Barack Obama was born in the United States. He also has said the U.S. should be entitled to Iraqi oil and he praised the tea party.

Having Trump participate in the Republican primaries, along with Palin, Bachman and some of the others will provide some real entertainment value along the lines of some of the top-line reality shows. Obama and the Dems will truly have a great time over the next year watching these clowns spending tens of millions of dollars cutting each other apart. Kein yirbu!!

Does every last bit of information need to be made public. Our voting records should be as private as who we choose to vote for. The only time it should matter is to show where an individual votes to prove that they live in an area that they represent or claim to live in.

Gimme a break he is either a democrat hack or a frustrated RINO. His interviews over the last ten years tell me he is a democrat hack.

Trump is a clown who has now put himself into the same category with Palin, Bachmann, and Glenn Beck. That category is labeled “self-serving imbecile”.

Trump is a P.T. Barnum type whose mystique comes from the “show” he puts on and not the realities around him. He is no great genius. He is a great MARKETER. He created a brand name to which he sells licenses to REAL businessmen. 90% of what you see with the “Trump” name on it has no connection at all to Donald Trump. They pay a license fee to use the name. His own companies go bankrupt so often it could make your head spin.

What makes him the most dangerous man in the field is that he believes his own lies and his own press. He thinks that just because he says it, it is true. That’s what happens to a man surrounded by “yes men”. Saying you voted every time does not make it true, and it is easily proven false.

The problem is that this “Svengali” figure has never had his life held up to the kind of scrutiny that he will face now. Every exaggeration and lie he has ever told will come out now, just like this voting story. He should stay in entertainment and marketing since he he does that so well.

Trump will whip all of the other Republican candidates. He will be a formidable opponent for Barack Hussein Obama.

At this point, the so-called “polls” which you reference mean bupkis. Trump pointed out that Obama kisses the tuchas of many of the world’s dictators, including the Saudis. How can anyone disagree with that position? Do you like when Obama bows to the Saudis, the Chinese, and the Japanese? Please!!
