They were detained for driving a car while being drunk, without documents, and offering resistance during an identity check, he said.

A decision is also due on whether four more Israeli pilgrims, who violated the Ukrainian laws, should be deported.

The inspection revealed that alcohol in the driver’s blood was five times the acceptable levels.

Currently, 450 police officers are providing law and order in Uman during the presence of a record number of Israeli pilgrims in the town.

They are lucky that all they got was being deported. They could have been detained tried and imprisoned.

Driving drunk without a license and resisting arrest? Deportation sounds appropriate.

They should have been prosecuted. Is this any way for Jews to behave, especially in a foreign country?

I love it when they call these drunken Breslover groupies “pilgrims”. They are “pilgrims” like my Shver is Mosie Rabeinu. Why do we endow legitimacy to these nutcases.

The reality that Uman – during the yomin noiraim no less – has become a vacation destination for those seeking alcohol, drugs and prostitution in a consequence free environment should be a wake up call to what is severely broken with the frumme velt.

They are not Pilgrims they are 2 wild people that came to Uman for Rosh Hashona for all the wrong reasons.
It was a magnificent Yom Tov with perfect Hachnosas Archim. All had plenty to eat and drink courtesy of a great and most sanctimonious Askan that should be thanked and worshiped properly with the upmost gratitude, appreciation admiration and Kovod all year. Tizku L’Mitzvos, Gmar Chasima Tayva.

Simple solution to these problems. El Al should STOP all flights to Uman. These ‘men’ should stay HOME with their wives and children . I wonder what they would do with all the $$$$ they would save. Gemar Tov.

There are a number of reasons not to go to uman:
    1. Since when is the kever of a tzadick in galus better than where the Shechina is. Och-en-vai if one must leave Eretz Hakodesh to get inspired but can’t get inspired where the Shechina is.
    2. Most people going leave there families alone for Yom Tov. SELFISH
    3. Leaving Eretz Yisroel to daven is like the m’raglim who said, “We are willing to be good frum Yidden who will build our Yeshivos & shuls, but in Egypt; not in Eretz Yisroel.
    4. To the non-Breslov who are running to uman, Eretz Yisroel is full of kivrei Tzadikim.
It is said that Rav Auerbach, ZZT”L once told a student that the kever of fallen Tzahal soldiers are kivrei tzadikim.
    5. How much $$$$ is left by Yidden in anti-Semitic Ukraine by going there. The Yidden massacred there must be crying.
    6. The Breslov Rebbe loved the Galil when he stayed in Eretz Yisroel. Wouldn’t it be a greater kavod if he would be reburied in the Gallil, within kedushas Eretz Yisroel??!! Then people could stay in Eretz Yisroel with their families on Yom Tov & not leave millions in ukraine.
I am sure there will be those who will rationalize in their response, just like the m’raglim.

Unfortunetly there is a percentage of men who go to Uman for immoral purposes that were mentioned in addition to drinking , drugs and whatnot. However , this is not the purpose for the majority ,so pls don’t hold the Olam responsible. It is a bad influence on others attending to hv such ppl there, and it would be appropriate for Breslov to try to make some sort of conditions or rules that ppl would need to follow /agree to in order to attend. Its not a free for all . It is sad , a waste , and most cetsinly a Chillul Hashem , but u don’t get kicked out of a country for being drunk , drunk driving or resisting arrest for ‘vocalizing’ ,etc…. In a country like the Ukraine , where EVERYBODY drinks on a daily basis , REALLY they do ! I am American but lived in a diffrent part of Russia for several yrs. If this is the way people ‘CHOOSE’ to continue to behave badly, Its time to set up a screening process for those that wish to spend Rosh Hashana in Uman ! G’mar chasima Tova !

In response to #12 Anonymous, u were one of the pilgrims there after perestroika , so was I , same yrs but in Moscow , probably know u. Ukranians are wicked as r Latvians and Hungarians…ALL these ppl VOLUNTEERED their ‘HELP’ when the nazi Germans Y’mch shimam came to their countries. Remember also Babi Yar is in the Ukraine . During WW2 hundreds if not thousands of yidden of all stripes and colors were murdered in this forest and buried in a big pit ! How response to 13 ,14, 15 and others . Men should be HOME with their families Rosh Hahsana time . If someone wants to go once ina whilke , every couple of yrs , BUT EVERY YEAR without the family IS WRONG !!!how many horrible pogroms were in the Ukraine . I believe the reason y Rebbe Nachman asked to be buried in Uman , and y they do not reintern him in EY is b/c there was a horrible pogrom /massacre of yidden there at some point and he asked that he be buried with these kedoshim.(Or something to that effect) These Ukranian /national low life jew haters would not have running water there still today if it wasn’t for the jews building they’re run down town up , as well as the livelyhood and millions of $$$$ of revenue brought in by all this !!!!
