Officers tried to arrest a man outside the Satmar Yeshiva, and that’s when the scuffle started.
It was after a massive protest against the ongoing road work of the Trans-Israel Highway, which passes over ancient Jewish graves.

Eight boys were injured during the riot. One officer was moderately injured and evacuated to Bikur Cholim Hospital. Four others were lightly wounded and received first aid on the spot.
Eyewitnesses claim All of a sudden, there were cops everywhere, beating people. They came into the Satmar Synagogue, and broke benches and tables. Anyone who spoke was beaten, one eyewitness
