Nice, France – Regulation Bans Jews from Renting Flats

Nice , France – The municipality regulating the southern French city of Nice requires apartment renters “to have a French citizenship and not to be Jewish.” The regulations were formulated in the days France collaborated with the Nazis during World War II.

The clause appears in the regulations of about 1,000 apartment buildings in the Mediterranean city, and remains valid to this day.
CRIF, the representative council of Jewish institutions in France, responded with shock and issued a call “to erase these signs of a disgraceful past.” [Ynet]
