The bizarre bank robbery that paralyzed mid-Beach for six hours Tuesday landed Paulo Manuel Da Silva Almeida, 45, in federal prison as agents continued hunting for his handler.
The mystery handler wasn’t found. He may not have been in the area at all.
”We think we know who he is but we’re still on the hunt,” said Orihuela of the FBI.
At Wednesday’s hearing, Almeida used an interpreter to tell U.S. Magistrate Judge Ted E. Bandstra that he is married, owns a home and slaughterhouse in Portugal, had two cars and counted $10,000 Euros — about $13,330 — in his bank account. [VIN]
