New York, NY – The president of Pace University has publicly apologized to a campus Jewish group that had accused administrators of using strong-arm tactics to stop a screening of a documentary on radical Islam.

President David Caputo also wrote in an e-mail to students and faculty this week that he was sorry for having cast doubt on earlier concerns the group had about bias incidents against Jewish students.
The group, Hillel, had said two deans warned last fall that showing the film, “Obsession: Radical Islam’s War Against the West,” would implicate club members as suspects in two campus hate crimes involving the desecration of the Koran, and the deans threatened to call the police.
“I want both to assure [the Jewish community] that no such coercion or intimidation was intended and to apologize for any action that may have unfortunately led to that belief,” Caputo wrote. [NYpost]
